Rare archaic Clay DVARAVATI Queen Amulet from Thailand.
I am not sure of the age of this Amulet.  I was told by the seller that it was from the Dvaravati Period which if true, would mean this is from the 6th thru the 11C.  After owning this for many years, I believe it is well after that period.  How much I am not sure.
However; it is a real beauty.  It is of red Clay and is depicting in fine detail a high bas relief image of a goddess or possible the Dvaravati Period Queen Cham Thevi (Jarmdevi) who ruled over a kingdom seated around Lamphun in northern Thailand prior to the formation of the Sukhothai Kingdom.  This image is encased in a finely etched old real silver case and is 2 1/2" in height by 1 1/4" in width.
I got this in Thailand in 2006.  Along with many others.  However, it is time to reduce and find another loving home.
