This is the unedited audio of the Mercury Atlas 6/Friendship 7 Flight Audio Recorder as heard and spoken by Astronaut John Glenn during his entire 4 hour and 55 minute mission on February 20, 1962. It contains all audio that was recorded by the on-board flight recorder.
You may notice it does not contain words like "God Speed John Glenn" since those words were not spoken over the "Air to Ground" loop and not heard by Glenn until after his mission.
The audio quality is very good, particularly Glenn's, since the audio was taken from the Friendship 7 on-board flight recorder. The quality of the ground audio is also good, but at times, you will notice dropouts and static - all dependent on the location of the MA-6 spacecraft and 1962 technology.
The CDs are labeled and provided in highly protective jewel cases.
