Story :
Lek Nam Pee is also called 'Lek Namphi' it is a pure and natural metal that was always kept only for the production of weapons for the personal collection of the King of Thailand. Nobody else had the right to own this natural metal. This metal was discovered in the 19th century in the village of Nampee, in the Utharadit region in Thailand. There are many stories that are told about how the people that discovered it soon became aware of the very strange powers of this metal after they had forged the simplest cooking utensils from this special 'blue steel' metal. Here is one such tale that I have heard.
While ploughing his field one day a farmer ran into reddish stones which were very heavy. These reddish stones were so heavy that his plough would not move any further. After digging one of these stones out and after taking a good look at it, he took it to someone who checked what this metal was. They found out it was a mineral specimen composed of very pure iron! The farmer was delighted with his find as iron was still very rare and cost a great deal of money.
The farmer asked the village blacksmith to make him a large meat cleaver for his kitchen. Even though there were several strange occurrences during the forging the blacksmith finally made the cleaver and sold it to the farmer even though the metal turned out to be blue!
The farmer was overjoyed that his new meat cleaver had been created by the village blacksmith and after using it for a while he realised it was his very best meat cleaver as it was always very sharp, it never got blunt and it never got any rust on it.
Sometime later one of the farmer's buffalos stopped working in his field and it would not move even though the farmer hit the buffalo and yelled at it. The farmer then gently tapped the buffalo with his newly created meat cleaver and the buffalo was completely cut in half!
The farmer now realised that his newly created meat cleaver was no ordinary meat cleaver it was something very special. This meat cleaver was so special that he decided he would give it to the King as a special gift. The King refused the farmers special gift as he did not understand that this meat cleaver was actually a weapon of huge and fearsome power. The King thought the farmer was a total madman to give him an ordinary meat cleaver. The King then had the farmer thrown out of his court as he did not realise how special his gift was and how much care had been taken by the farmer in creating this special meat cleaver.
The Kings guards threw the farmer out of the Kings court and the farmer swung his meat cleaver and struck a huge rock with his meat cleaver. The huge rock was cut in half and there was a large hole in the ground where the rock stood
.
After seeing this King then changed his mind and told his guards to bring the farmer back with his meat cleaver so he could apologise to the farmer. When the Kings guards caught up with the farmer he did not want to listen to the Kings guards as he was still very annoyed about being thrown out of the Kings court as he was giving the King a very special, powerful meat cleaver.
After huge arguments with the Kings guards who had come to take him back to the Kings court the farmer took out his meat cleaver and killed all the guards! After this the farmer then fell asleep under a tree.
After a while the King realising that his guards were not coming back decided to go out and find the farmer himself. The King found the farmer as the farmer had dragged his meat cleaver along the ground leaving a trench to follow him. THIS TRENCH STILL EXISTS AND IS SHOWN BY SPECIAL SACRED, WORTHY PEOPLE TO THIS DAY.
