The 1962 "Project Mercury", limited edition, first day covers are genuine as they bear the U.S. Postal Service's official, first day of issue cancellation. To capture the imagery of John Glenn's historic return to space, the cover design, "From Mercury to Discovery" was created. Production was limited to only 1200 covers, with 500 being reserved for this special edition. The "STS-95 Discovery" mission insignia emblem is an oversized, limited edition. Total production was limited to only 1700 pieces, with 500 of these being reserved for this edition. The emblems of the
