This pack supply 6 volts (4 AA batteries) to the camera, the same voltage as the ni-cad batteries.
This battery pack is used with the ni-cad batteries removed from the camera.
You place 4AA batteries in the pack, and plug the power cord into the side of the camera. This is a great unit to have for cold weather, you can place it in you pocket to keep the batteries warm.  Keep your camera running at top speed.  In the studio, or location I velcro it to my tripod, or camera stand. Even if you use your in camera batteries, this is a great unit to have for aback up. With lithium batteries I get 300 plus rolls of 120 film(which for me lasts about a year)  This is a great item! One day it may save you! Ni-cads can discharge in a hurry and you might be stuck without any juice. Batteries not included.
