    Description

    Three vintage cowrie shells (1 Cypraea cervus and 2 Cypraea tigris
    )
    The Cypraea cervus measures approx. 101.6 mm (4")
    The other tiger shell (specimen #3.589) measures 95.25 mm (3.75")
    Specimen #3.595 measures
    95.25 mm (3.75")
    I purchased these at an estate sale. There was a tiny slip of paper inside one shell with name and source information (not these particular shells). Judging from the age of the paper and the ink used (it looks like a fountain pen), I assume they are fairly old.
    Another shell from this collection had a slip of paper inside it stating that it was from Trinity College's Collection in Washington, D.C.
    The two tiger shells have specimen numbers on them so I am assuming they are part of the Trinity College Collection.
    The Cypraea cervus shell does not have a specimen number on it.
    I will be listing other shells from this collection in separate auctions.
    I can combine shipping if you should win other auctions. Please wait to pay if you are bidding on other shells so I can combine shipping.
